The guide may receive referral compensation if you lease through an introduction. It is independent of Lore and its management.
The starting point
Lore lists studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments at 266 Canal Street in Salem. Lore official site ↗
The assessment below draws on public property information and a tour checklist. It does not assign a rating or claim verified experience with maintenance, noise or management response.
What stands out on paper
The property advertises in-apartment laundry, a pool, workspaces and a rooftop terrace. Those are useful features to investigate if they fit your routine. Lore advertised amenities ↗
On a tour, check access hours, any added costs and the distance from your actual apartment. A feature on an amenity list is not the same as one you will use every week.
The tradeoffs to test
- Total cost: request the recurring monthly total and a separate list of move-in charges. Compare the same lease length and start date across buildings.
- Sound and light: tour the exact unit if possible. Pause near windows and shared walls, and ask which direction the windows face.
- Your route: try the trip from the building entrance to work, groceries or the train at the time you would normally travel.
- Parking: ask about assigned spaces, added charges, visitor access and a second vehicle. Do not assume a space is included.
THE DECISION / THREE THINGS TO TEST
A useful decision rule
Keep Lore on your shortlist if the specific apartment, written cost sheet and everyday route work for you.
Compare another option if you would be paying for amenities you rarely use or your commute depends on an untested connection.
For a more balanced shortlist, use the Salem apartment comparison. For layout questions, see the two-bedroom guide.
